The Weather Outside is Frightful

OK, so I am dreaming about the fire being so delightful....but in my dream house there will be fire...preferably wood...(much to Mark's dismay), there is nothing like the smell, the warmth, the crackle and the beauty of a
 real wood fire.
Today, I was supposed to head to the Gym, but after taking the youngest boy and youngest girl to school...I thought, "Are you mad woman
?!?!?! You should be home curled up in front of a roaring yet cozy fire...."
Since that was impossible, without burning down the house...a little counter productive to the whole warm and cozy atmosphere I was aiming for;
I opted for a steaming pot of Blooming, Jasmine Green tea....Ahhhhhh.....Cozy.
Comforting hot tea, in
front of a fire
in warm PJ's with an incredible book,
a soft blanket and hubby with his book...that's my dream for today.

Michael Made the Basketball Team!!!

Michael hesitatingly tried out for the Junior Basketball team this year. He has some pretty BIG (size 12 1/2) shoes that I sometimes worry might be hard for him to follow in.
When Michael told me he was trying out,( but was worried because there were so many boys trying for the team), I reminded him that his big brother, who now plays on the high school team, (and was a mile taller than Michael at this age); never made the team until grade 8.

Needless to say, He was pretty excited, and it seems, surprised to find out that he'd made the team. YEAH MICHAEL!!!!

Now, not to be out done by his baby sister either, here is Michael playing the songs that he has taught himself over the past few weeks.

When Jianna is bored....

Jianna has been home from school for the past 2 days. She has developed a really bad cough that was causing her to lose sleep and we thought it best she not share this experience with her classmates.
Since grade 1 is still lots of fun, being home without siblings can get boring pretty fast....unless you are Jianna.
Here are just a few of the ways my 5 year old  found to entertain herself (and me) today.

All of the small pictures are those of my budding photographer. In the above picture of Jianna and Kallie, we have Puppy training class 101..."catching bubbles"...then there was "cleaning up our spills", for which Kallie received a verbal play by play on where to get a towel, and how to wipe the floor, oh! and polish it.

Now, if Jianna's career as a a photographer or dog trainer don't happen to work out, maybe she could be a fill in for Billy Joel as "The Piano Girl"....make that a circus clown.

Will You Dance?

"Life isn't about Waiting for the Storm to End;
It's About Learning to Dance in the Rain!"

I found this Quote at "Life With Hannah and Lily" a few days ago, and I absolutely love it.
How many times have I sat in my boat crying out to Jesus to "Calm the storm"....
Seemingly nothing happens, so I sit waiting.
How many times have I missed Him calling to me because all I could hear was the storm?

Is it possible that He was giving me an invitation?
"Forget the Storm...step out on the waves and come dance with me"

Wow!!! Really God?

"And being not weak in faith, (Abraham) considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God."

It's the beginning of a new year and we all have expectations and promises from God for 2008. Some, God has been speaking for a very long time, maybe through a deep desire in our heart, maybe confirmed by God's prophets.

Do you ever get overwhelmed at the greatness of what God says He will do for you, your family, your business, your church?
Often our immediate circumstances are not even close to lining up to what God says He is doing....In fact, sometimes we can't even see the bleep of His promises on our personal radars; yet, He has made us a promise.

It takes Faith to look beyond our circumstances, to see with the eyes of Jesus, to believe as Abraham did....to believe for the impossible...for you personally.

I know, for myself, it is often easier to have great faith when praying for someone else. To know beyond question that God is moving Heaven and Earth on that person's behalf.
Why is it sometimes harder to believe with that same unwavering knowing for ourselves?

As you go into this year believing for great things from God, trust in what you DO know to be truth...the fact that the word of God is true, that He never lies, that His promises are yes and Amen. Trust in the faithfulness of God concerning past promises and the fact that the Word says that He is 'no respecter of persons', what He has done for one, He will do for you.

Commit this year to 'stagger not through unbelief'. Ultimately, it is Abraham's unwavering Faith that brought about God's 'impossible' promises in his life.

Bless each of you as you believe for the impossible in 2008 and may we all remember to give God the Glory for all that He accomplishes on our behalf this year!
